Cicero ave., Oak Lawn. President Vincent Barcelona estimated that at least 2,000 persons have viewed the Colledge Baseball Museum since it was unveiled at a testimonial luncheon in honor of Ephraim “Sharkey” Colledge held Friday, June 25.  Colledge, a legendary baseball figure with the Chicago White Sox organization for at least 60 years, turned his own personal collections to Barcelona, rather than donate them to the Baseball Hall of Fame.  During “Sharkey’s” Sox association, he collected a number of autographed baseballs, some from such baseball greats as Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Ted Williams, Joe DiMaggio, Ted Cobb, and many others.  There were also many pictures of great moments in baseball.  The accompanying photos were taken at a special luncheon for more than 150 guests, including many former and present day White Sox organization members.” According to the Suburbanite Economist (Chicago IL) Thursday, June 21, 1973, page 25: “COLLEDGE – Ephraim (Sharkey) Colledge, loving husband of the late Sigrid, dear friend of Grace Monroe, brother of Sadie Dunk and Joseph, the late William T, Arthur and Esther Brown.  Funeral service Wednesday, 10 30 a m at Kenny Brothers, 3400 W 95th St. Interment Evergreen. 239 3400.”
