According to the Daily Chronicle (DeKalb IL) Thursday, May 13, 1965, page 2:
“CURTIS B. COMBS
SANDWICH – Curtis B. Combs 57, 124 College Ave., died Wednesday, May 12, 1965 at the Sandwich Community Hospital.
He was born Feb. 22, 1908 in Rogers Park, the son of Clinton B. and Florence A. Combs. He married Ione Mae Mosher, Jan. 1, 1930 and had been employed by the C. B. & Q. Railroad in the brass finishing department for 32 years.
Survivors include his widow; two sons, Curtis of Millington and Jerry D. of Sheridan; six grandchildren. His parents and two brothers preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday from the Jones Funeral Home with Rev. J. Brabner Smith officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today.”

According to the Daily Chronicle (De Kalb IL) Monday, August 11, 1952, page 2:
“FLORENCE ALICE COMBS
SANDWICH – Florence Alice Combs, 72, of Sandwich, passed away Sunday afternoon, Aug. 10, 1952. She was born March 7, 1880, the daughter of Henry and Sarah Bater, and married C. B. Combs March 7, 1898.
She had been a resident of Sandwich for 30 years, and is survived by her husband; one son, Curtis, and two grandsons of Sandwich. Mrs. Combs was preceded in death by two sons.
Services will be held from the Sutherland Funeral Home Wednesday morning at 11 o’clock. Rev. Howard Palm will officiate, and burial will be at Fort Hill Cemetery, Round Lake, Ill. Friends may call at the funeral home.”

“COMBS – Florence Eater (sic) Combs, Aug. 10, 1952, Sandwich, Ill., wife of Clinton Bond Combs, mother of Curtis B. Combs. Funeral services Wednesday, 10:30 a. m., funeral home, Sandwich, Ill., and 1:30 p. m., at grave, Fort Hill cemetery, Lake county, Ill.”

“Mrs. Clinton Combs
Services for Mrs. Florence B. Combs, 72, of Sandwich, De Kalb county, who died in her home Sunday, will be held at 11 a. m. today in the chapel at 605 N. Main st., Sandwich. Mrs. Combs was born in Waukegan and lived there and in Chicago for many years. She was a former employe of the Waukegan Sun. Her father, the late Henry Bater, was a member of the Grand Army of the Republic. She leaves her husband, Clinton, retired grocer; a son, Curtis, and two grandsons.”
