According to the Forest Park Review (Forest Park IL) Thursday, April 3, 1952, page 8:

“Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Hoym, 75 years old and a resident of Forest Park for more than 43 years, were held Wednesday at Drechsler’s Funeral home, Oak Park.  Burial was in Concordia Lutheran cemetery.  Rev. Burzlaff officiated.  Mrs. Hoym, who for the past six months lived at 104 S. Marion, Oak Park, died Sunday afternoon in Oak Park hospital, following nine weeks of illness.  She was the mother of Walter Hoym, of the Faust and Hoym Meat Market and Grocery, and of Oscar Hoym, both of Forest Park.  Surviving in addition are four daughters and four other sons; Mrs. Elsie Edwards of Round Lake, Mrs. Frieda Helmboldt and Miss Dorothy Hoym of Oak Park, Mrs. Martha Lysen of Worth; and Hugh, Arthur, Norman and Raymond Hoym.  In addition Mrs. Hoym is survived by a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Voigt of Oak Park; eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.  Born in Germany in 1877 and orphaned at the age of four, Mrs. Hoym came to America when she was 14.  She settled in Elgin, where for the first time she met her sister, four years her senior.  They had become separated upon the death of their parents.  In 1893, at the age of 16, she married Max Hoym.  He died in 1926.  For years the Hoym family lived at 7229 Franklin, Forest Park.”

   JEANETTE EDWARDS, born November 22, 1931 in Springfield, IL, was a devoted wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was born Nov 22, 1931, during the Great Depression, a time that left a lasting impact on her and helped to develop her strong sense of family. From a young age she helped to take care of her nieces and nephews. She began her own family in 1950 when she married Richard Edwards on March 26 in Round Lake, IL. She had met Richard while working as a waitress in McHenry, IL.
   She moved with her husband to Round Lake where later that year her first daughter Pat was born. She had a son Richard born, two years later and a second daughter Ruth in 1953. While raising her family, she worked, and was
   A caregiver to her in-laws. Her family expanded when her first granddaughter was born in 1970. Since then her family has continued to grow and now includes nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She always had a special ability to make each and every one of them feel like they were her favorite. Known to all alike as Grandma Duck, Jeanette was a loving generous, woman, who devoted her life to helping her family. She enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including reading, sewing and baking, but the most important thing to her was her family. She passed away on June 30th after along illness. She was preceded in death by her husband on July 23rd, 1991 and her daughter Pat on March 18th, 2001.
   She is survivor by he son Rick (Brenda) Edwards, daughter Ruth (Perry) Miller, her sister Donna, her grandchildren Jessica (Bob), Kelly (Jessie), Jennifer, Christian (Heather), Sara (Scott), Rick, Ashley, Taylor, Kristen and her great grandchildren Cody, Adrian Nathan, Jayden, Chloe, Divinity, Jenica, Rory, Riley, Andraly,, Jacob, Aaron, and Emily. She will be infinitely missed by all.
   Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday July 6, 2007 at the Calvary Presbyterian Church, 510 N. Cedar Lake Rd, Round Lake, IL, with the Rev. Lisle J. Kauffman officiating.    Survivors include his wife, Ottilie; a daughter, Donna Mack; three sisters, Freida and Olga Hoym, and Martha Lysen; a brother Norman, and two grandchildren.
   Burial was in Fairmount Hills cemetery in Willow Springs.”
