Mary (Wilson) Stanford born January 23, 1839 in Ireland; married Lemuel Hastings Stanford (1836-1914) on November 8, 1859 in Avon Township, Lake County, IL, son of Charles Stanford and Jerusha (Hastings) Stanford; Mary died April 26, 1882 in Avon Township, Lake County, IL; Mary and Lemuel are buried in Lakeside Cemetery, Libertyville, Lake County, IL; According to the “Stanford Genealogy – Comprising the Descendants of Abner Stanford the Revolutionary Soldier by Arthur Willis Stanford. 1906. page 60:

“Lemuel Hastings Stanford8 (Charles,7 Lyman,6 Abner,5 Caleb,4 David,3 Thomas,2 Thomas1) m. at Avon, Ill., Nov. 8, 1859.  Mary Wilson, b. in Ireland, Jan. 23, 1839, dau. of William Wilson and Abigail Paine, both b. in Ireland.  He is a farmer; he succeeded to the homestead at Antioch, in Lake Co., Ill., where his father settled in 1845; he now lives on a farm in New Lenox, Ill.  She d. at Avon, Apl 26, 1882.  The children were all b. at Avon. 303 1. Wilson George, b. Sep 27, 1860. 304 2. Charlotte Eliza, b. Sep 17, 1862, and d. at Libertyville, Ill., Apl 21, 1887, unmarried. 305 3. Mary Louisa, b. May 8, 1865. 306 4. Jennie Hart, b. Sep 19, 1867, is unmarried and is a clerk with The Williams Co. (ladies suits), New York; her residence is 455 West 23d St., New York City. 307 5. Isabelle Maud, b. Apl 5, 1871.”

Matthew Wilson born July 1847 in Ireland; lived in Chicago, Cook County, IL; married Winnifred “Winnie” White (1843-1919) on April 19, 1874 in Waukegan, Lake County, IL, daughter of John White (1812-1874) and Bridget (Graham) White (1813-1891); Matthew died March 20, 1908 in Chicago, Cook County, IL; Matthew and Winnifred are buried in Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Waukegan, Lake County, IL; According to the Chicago Tribune (Chicago IL) Sunday, March 22, 1908, page 7:

“WILSON – Matthew Wilson, beloved husband of Winifred Wilson, nee White, father of Thomas J. Wilson.  Funeral Monday at 9 a. m., from residence, 1438 Parke av., to Waukegan, Ill., via the C. & N. W. Ry. Wells st. depot.”

“William Wilson, 89
of Zenda, Dies
  William Wilson died at his home at Zenda on Thursday, March 18 at the age of 89.  He was born at Long Lake, Ill., on November 13, 1851.  He was married to Mary Whitehead on November 8, 1876, who preceeded him in death five years ago.  He lived at Long Lake until 1902 when he moved to Zenda where he resided until the time of his death.  Survivors include four children – Mrs. August Hanson, Long Lake, Ill., Ralph of St. Petersburg, Florida, Charles and May of Zelda, Wis., and two grandchildren.  The funeral will be held today, Thursday, March 20, at 2 o’clock from the home, and burial will take place at Grays Lake, Illinois.”
