“Alice Fern Thompson Zak – Illinois native – Alice Fern Thompson Zak, 87, died March 15, 1993 at Life Care Center of Reno.  A native of Chicago, she was born Jan. 28, 1905, and had lived in Reno for the past 12 years, coming from San Jose, Calif., where she lived for 10 years.  She had also lived in Round Lake, Ill., for 20 year.  Mrs. Zak was a homemaker.  Her husband, Anthony John, died in 1968 and she was preceded in death by her parents, George Martin and Helga Petersen Thompson.  Surviving is a daughter, Bonita A. Brand of Truckee, Calif.  A memorial service is schedule for 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John’s Presbyterian Church, Reno.  A funeral with burial at Fort Hill Cemetery will be held at a later date in Grayslake, Ill.  Local arrangements are under the direction of Northern Nevada Memorial Cremation and Burial Society.”  (See section pertaining to Alice Fern (Thompson) Zak buried in the Fort Hill Cemetery)
