“RITES FOR E. M. BAILEY
Funeral services were conducted for Edward M. Bailey from the First Baptist church here Thursday afternoon. Mr. Bailey’s death occured Wednesday in Tulsa at the home of a daughter. He has been in ill health for several months. He was a resident of Afton until eight years ago when they moved to Keifer where he has been employed by an oil company. While in Afton he was engaging in the grocery business and railroad work. He leaves a widow, Jennie; two sons, Fred of Seminole and Orie of Chicago, two daughters, Virginia and Edna Mae of the home, six step children, George Rule and Mrs Herbert Boyd of Miami, Otis Rule of Sapulpa, Leo rule and Mrs. James h. Moore of Tulsa, and Orris Rule of Long Beach, Calif. Services were conducted by the Rev. E. A. Spiller of Commerce. Burial at Mt. Hope cemetery.”

“The entire community was shocked and saddened by the death of Mrs. Bessie O. Bailey, wife of Edward M. Bailey. She was slightly indisposed Monday evening and on Tuesday morning grew suddenly worse and in a short time had passed away, death coming shortly before noon Tuesday Jan. 30.”
