According to the McHenry Plaindealer (McHenry IL) Thursday, June 10, 1954, page 16:

   “Henry Cross, Sr., 53, a resident of Deep Spring Woods subdivision at Wonder Lake for about twelve years, died suddenly at his home Saturday night of a heart attack.  Mr. Cross operated a filling station in Woodstock.
   Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Mary Cross; two sons, George Cross and Henry Cross, Jr.
   Funeral services were held in Chicago.”

Mary E. Cross
   Mary E. Cross, 80, of Wonder Lake, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 1965, in Memorial Hospital for McHenry County, Woodstock.  She was born Oct. 21, 1904, in Chicago, the daughter of John and Mary (Bottoms) Bobleter.
   Mrs. Cross resided in Wonder Lake since 1940 and had been a proofreader for the Chicago Daily News and Chicago Sun Times, until her retirement in 1970.  She was a member of Chicago Typographical Union 16 and Ladies Guild of St. Ann Episcopal Church, Woodstock.
   Surviving are two sons, Henry of Addison, Ill. and George of Ingleside, Ill.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
   In 1927, in Chicago, she married Henry Cross, who preceded her in death in 1954.  She was also preceded in death by four brothers.
   A Requiem Mass will be offered at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Ann’s church, with the Rev. William Bergmann officiating; and burial in Oakridge Cemetery, Hillside, Ill.  Visitation was held from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Schneider-Leucht-Merwin-Cooney Funeral Home, Woodstock.”

Henry Cross
   Henry Cross, 66, of Addison died Tuesday in Elmhurst Memorial Hospital.  Burn in Chicago, Mr. Cross was a coordinator for Illinois Bell for 36 years.  He also served in the Navy as a seaman 1st class during the Korean War.  Survivors include his wife, Karen; two daughters, Luane Raudabaugh and Karen “Kaycee” Rondano; two sons, Mark and Andrew; and five grandchildren.  Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday in Humes Funeral Home, 320 W. Lake St., Addison.  Services will begin at 9:15 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. mass in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 330 E. Fullerton Ave., Addison.”

According to the Northwest Herald (Woodstock, IL) Monday, July 1, 1991, page 18:

GEORGE CROSS
   McHENRY – George H. Cross, 62, McHenry, died Sunday June 30, 1991, at Memorial Hospital Woodstock.
   He was born March 18, 1929, in Maywood, Ill., to Henry and Mary Bobletter.
   On June 17, 1950, he married Elaine Klemm at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Round Lake. He graduated from McHenry Community High School in 1946. He was employed by Illinois Bell from 1946 to 1960.
   A Former McHenry resident, in 1960 he moved to Volo and was the proprietor of the Cross Sport and Gun Shop until 1988. Since 1988, he has been a consultant in the gunsmith profession.
   He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the McHenry Chamber of Commerce. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean conflict.
   He is survived by his wife, Elaine; two daughters, Carrie (Richard) Kubez of Urbana and Donna (James) Lubeno-Cross of Grayslake; two grandchildren, Erica and Leah; and one brother, Henry (Karen) Cross of Addison.
   He was preceded in death by his parents. No visitation will be held. Friends may greet the family at Zion Lutheran Church Wednesday, July 3, from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Interment will be private.
   Memorials bay be made to the Zion Lutheran Church Building Foundation
