BROLIN – in Martinez, Contra Costa County, June 25, 1969, Walter C. Brolin of Smartville, Tuba City, husband of Emelie, father of Louis Miller of Beverly Hills and Evelyn Ottow of Cool, el Dorado County, brother of Peony Brolin of Florida, and Brenda Robinson and Elsie Johnson, both of Illinois, aged 74 years.  Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Bergemann & Son Funeral Chapel in Nevada City.  Interment will follow in Sierra Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Nevada City.”

According to the Auburn Journal (Auburn CA) Thursday, July 3, 1969, page 14:

Walter C. Brolin

   Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon in Nevada City for Walter C. Brolin, 74, of Pleasant Valley, who died June 25 in the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Martinez.  Burial was in Nevada City.
   Born in Rockford, Ill., Mr. Brolin had lived in California for 29 years.  A retired machinist, he served in World War I and was a member of the American Legion and the WWI Veterans.
   Surviving are a son, Louis of Beverly Hills; a daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Ottow of Cool; a granddaughter, Julia Ottow of Cool; and two grandsons, Robert J. Ottow of Long Beach, and E/C Lawrence H. Ottow, who was returned from Vietnam on emergency leave because of his grandfather’s critical illness.”

Jankovich, suddenly, Dec. 18, 1969, beloved husband of Jennie, nee Schlacks; dear father of Sharon; fond brother of Rose Klemm and Millie Brolin.  Services Monday, 11 a. m., at Ewald Funeral Home, 2501 03 N. Southport avenue.  Interment Rosehill cemetery.  Member of Bookbinders & Paper Cutters union, Local No. 8, I. B. of B., AFL-CIO. 549-0098.”

According to the McHenry Plaindealer (McHenry IL) Thursday, May 22, 1952, page 6:

JANKOVICH RITES HELD WEDNESDAY AT ROUND LAKE

   “Mrs. Caroline Jankovich, 83, mother of Mrs. Otto Klemm of Volo, died early Monday morning, May 19, at the Klemm home following an illness of three days.
   The deceased was a native of Austria-Hungary and came to this country in 1907.  She and her husband, Paul, who died in 1949, lived in Chicago until four years ago. When they came to reside with their daughter in Volo.
   The couple celebrated their sixty-first wedding anniversary in 1941, shortly before his death.
   Surviving is another daughter, Mrs. Millie Brolin, of Los Angeles, Calif., and a son, Frank Jankovich, of Chicago; also nine grand-children and seven great-grandchildren.
   Services were held at 2 o’clock Wednesday from St. Paul’s Lutheran church at Round Lake, with Rev. J. J. Pelican, Sr., of Trinity Slovak Lutheran church of Chicago officiating.  Burial was in Fort Hill cemetery, Round Lake.
   The body rested at the Peter M. Justen funeral home until time of rites.”
