3. Emilia Pauline (Aurelia, Amelia, Mildred) “Emelie” “Millie” (Jankovich) Brolin born April 24, 1897 in Pezinek, Czechoslovakia; married (1) Louis F. Miller (1893-?); married (2) Walter Cornelius Brolin (1895-1969), son of Ernest Martin Brolin (1860-1943) and Mathilda “Tilda” (Nordstrom) Brolin (1864-1920); Emilia died July 27, 1995 in Nevada County, CA; Emilia and Walter are buried Sierra Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Nevada City, Nevada County, CA (NOTE: Emilia had two children from her first marriage: Evelyn Miller (1918-?) and Louis Frank Miller (1921-1987) both born in Illinois according to the 1930 U.S. Census)

According to the Sacrament Bee (Sacramento CA) Saturday, June 38, 1969, page 8:

BROLIN – in Martinez, Contra Costa County, June 25, 1969, Walter C. Brolin of Smartville, Tuba City, husband of Emelie, father of Louis Miller of Beverly Hills and Evelyn Ottow of Cool, el Dorado County, brother of Peony Grolin of Florida, and Brenda Robinson and Elsie Johnson, both of Illinois, aged 74 years.  Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Bergemann & Son Funeral Chapel in Nevada City.  Interment will follow in Sierra Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Nevada City.”

According to the Auburn Journal (Auburn CA) Thursday, July 3, 1969, page 14:

Walter C. Brolin

   Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon in Nevada City for Walter C. Brolin, 74, of Pleasant Valley, who died June 25 in the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Martinez.  Burial was in Nevada City.
   Born in Rockford, Ill., Mr. Brolin had lived in California for 29 years.  A retired machinist, he served in World War I and was a member of the American Legion and the WWI Veterans.
   Surviving are a son, Louis of Beverly Hills; a daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Ottow of Cool; a granddaughter, Julia Ottow of Cool; and two grandsons, Robert J. Ottow of Long Beach, and E/C Lawrence H. Ottow, who was returned from Vietnam on emergency leave because of his grandfather’s critical illness.”

5. Frank Joseph Jankovich born September 8, 1908 in Chicago, Cook County, IL; married Jennie Mildred Schlacks (1905-1973); Frank died December 18, 1969 in Cook County, IL; buried in Rosehill Cemetery and Mausoleum, Chicago, Cook County, IL

According to the Chicago Tribune (Chicago IL) Saturday, December 20, 1969, page 42:

“Jankovich
Frank J. Jankovich, suddenly, Dec. 18, 1969, beloved husband of Jennie, nee Schlacks; dear father of Sharon; fond brother of Rose Klemm and Millie Brolin.  Services Monday, 11 a. m., at Ewald Funeral Home, 2501 03 N. Southport avenue.  Interment Rosehill cemetery.  Member of Bookbinders & Paper Cutters union, Local No. 8, I. B. of B., AFL-CIO. 549-0098.”

According to the Daily Sentinel (Woodstock IL) Friday, July 1, 1949, page 1:

PAUL JANKOVICH OF VOLO, DIED IN WAUKEGAN

   “McHenry: Paul Jankovich, 84 died at St. Theresa’s Hospital, Waukegan, on Thursday morning, June 30, 1949, after a lingering illness.  He was born in Austria, Hungary and came to this country about sixty years ago.  About a year ago, he moved from Chicago to Volo where he made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Otto Klemm.
   Survivors are his wife, Caroline; one son, Frank of Chicago; and two daughters, Mrs. Klemm and Mrs. Millie Brolin of California.  A daughter preceded him in death.  There are also nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
   The funeral will be on Tuesday, July 5, 1949, at 2:00 p.m. from the Peter M. Justen Funeral Home, with Rev. Pellican of the Holy Trinity Lutheran church of Chicago officiating.  Internment will be at Fort Hill cemetery near Volo.”

According to the McHenry Plaindealer (McHenry IL) Thursday, July 7, 1949, page 1:

SERVICES HERE ON TUESDAY FOR FATHER OF MRS. OTTO KLEMM

   “Paul Jankovich, 84 years old, father of Mrs. Otto Klemm of Volo, died at St. Therese hospital, Waukegan, on Thursday, June 30.  He had been ill for about three months.
   Mr. Jankovich was born in Czechoslovakia on Jan. 12, 1865, and came to this country sixty years ago.  He resided in Chicago, where he carried on his trade as carpenter until his retirement several years ago.  He and Mrs. Jankovich moved to the Klemm residence a year ago.
   Survivors include the widow, Carolin; three children, Mrs. Klemm, Frank of Chicago and Mrs. Mildred Brolin of Los Angeles, Calif.; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
   The body rested at the Peter M. Justen funeral home until Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock, when Rev. Pelican of Holy Trinity Lutheran church, Chicago, officiated at the last rites.  Burial was in Fort Hill cemetery, near Volo.”
