“DIED.
LAMBERT – At his residence, near Myron, on Thursday, Sept. 13th, after a long and painful illness, Gersham Lambert, aged 80 years, 8 months and 14 days.
The deceased was born in Canada West, Jan. 10th, 1813. Was married to Miss Nancy Burtis, Sept. 11th, 1840. From thence they moved to Kenosha Co., Wis., in the fall of 1853, and resided there 14 years. He then moved to this place in the fall of 1867, living here until his death. He leaves a wife and six children to mourn his loss, three having gone before. Two of his sons are at home, one in Myron, two in South Dakota and a daughter in Minneapolis. He, like Abraham, lived to a good old age.
The funeral services were conducted by Rev. McCluskey, of Frankville, at the residence of the deceased, in Ludlow township. The remains were interred in the Minert cemetery.
For years Mr. Lambert has been one of the most staunch friends the REVIEW has had. He has taken two copies of the paper and has been as prompt as the sun. No better, truer or more manly man lives in the country than he was. Hence we feel like dropping a tear with the mourners at the departure of a good man and a true friend. Peace to the dead and consolation to the living.”
