“CLOTILDE H. RODIEK
Born: Aug. 29, 1934; in Chicago, IL
Died: Jan. 24, 2016; in McHenry, IL
   Clotilde H. “Claudie” Rodiek, age 81, died early Sunday morning, January 24, 2016, at Centegra Hospital – McHenry.
   She was born August 29, 1934, in Chicago to Rudolph and Mary Mumme.  Formerly of Mt. Prospect and Palatine, she was an educator and secretary for many years.
   Claudie lived in McHenry for over 25 years, and was an active member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in McHenry.  At church, she served on the Altar Guild, led the Naomi Circle, participated in Wednesday night Bible study, and most recently attended every meeting for the committee in charge of the renovation of the kitchen and sacristy areas at church.  If someone were in need of a ride at church, it was Claudie who often volunteered.  She brought a wheelchair-bound member to church every Sunday and also brought the person in with her when she helped the church office in special projects.  Claudie regularly visited nursing home residents as well as those hospitalized.  Her pleasant and caring nature and spontaneous willingness to help where needed will be greatly missed by her church family.
   She is survived by her children, Ronald (Caryn) Ruhnke, Douglas (Dawn) Ruhnke, Tim (Sheila) Rodiek, Karen Rodiek, Pam Rodiek, and Amy (Kurt) Klebe; six grandchildren, including Elisabeth (Chris) Baima and Kurt (Mary) Ruhnke and four other grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
   She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Rodiek, on May 17, 2000.
   Friends will gather to visit with her family from 1:30 p.m. until 3 p.m. Sunday, January 31, 2016, at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 404 N. Green Street, McHenry, IL 60050.  The memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at church.  Inurnment will be private in Woodland Cemetery, McHenry.
   For those wishing to send an expression of condolence, Claudie’s family suggests memorials be made to Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church.

According to the 1950 U.S Census for Chicago, Cook County, IL living at 3010 Whipple Street, the househole members were:

Mumme, daughter, age 15, never married, born in Illinois”

According to the Chicago Tribune (Chicago IL) Thursday, June 14, 2001, page 175:

“MUMME – Mary C. Mumme, nee Schavotis, age 87, of McHenry, formerly of Griswold Lake, Round Lake and Chicago, beloved wife of Rudolf; loving mother of Clotisde Rodiek of McHenry; dear grandmother of Douglas (Dawn) Ruhnke, of Cary, and Ronald Ruhnke, of Algonquin; great-grandmother of Elisabeth and Kurt Ruhnke; preceded in death by two sin-in-laws, Ronald Rehnke and Herman Rodiak.  Resting at the George R. Justen & Son Funeral Home. 3519 W. Elm St., McHenry.  Visitation Friday, June 15, 4 to 8 p.m.  Funeral Services Saturday, June 16, 11:30 a.m. at Funeral Home.  Interment Fort Hill Cemetery.  Flowers would be preferred or donations to National Multiple Sclerosis Society.  Info: 815-385-2400.”

According to the Daily Herald (Arlington Heights IL) June 15, 2001:

“Mary C. Mumme of McHenry
      Funeral services for Mary C. Mumme, 87, will be held at noon Saturday, at George R. Justen & Son Funeral Home, 3519 W. Elm St., McHenry.  Born Dec. 8, 1913, in Gras, Austria, to John and Clotilde Schavotis, she died Wednesday, June 13, 2001, at Northern Illinois Medical Center, McHenry.  Interment will be in Fort Hill Cemetery, Round Lake.  Mrs. Mumme resided in Chicago before moving to Round Lake in 1950.  In 1960, she moved to Griswold Lake, where she lived for more than 30 years.  In 1990, she moved to McHenry.  Among her favorite pastimes, she enjoyed embroidery and stitchery.  Mary is survived by her husband, Rudolf Mumme, to whom she was married on April 15, 1931, in Chicago; daughter, Clotilde Rodiek of McHenry; grandsons, Douglas (Dawn) Ruhnke of Cary and Ronald Ruhnke of Algonquin; and great-grandchildren, Elisabeth and Kurt Ruhnke.  She was preceded in death by her sons-in-law, Ronald Rhunke and Herman Rodick.  Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, at the funeral home.  Although flowers would be preferred by Mary’s family, memorials would also be appreciated to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Greater Illinois  Chapter, 910 W.
