According to the Daily Herald (Arlington Heights IL) Sunday, September 20, 2009, page 48:

“Mary K. Benner
of Libertyville for four years
   A memorial service for Mary K. Benner, 75, at resident of the Winchester House, will be held at 7 p.m., with visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21, at the Burnett-Dane Funeral Home Ltd., 120 W. Park Ave. (Route 176, one block west of Milwaukee Ave.), Libertyville.  A private interment service will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Libertyville.
   Born Oct. 23, 1933, in Waukegan, she passed away Friday, Sept. 19, 2009, at Advocate Condell Medical Center.
   Mary was a former 12-year resident of St. Petersburg, Fla., before moving to Mundelein, where she lived for 14 years.  She was very active on the resident council and participated in many of the activities at the Winchester House.  She will be missed by all her family and friends.
   Surviving are her children, Paula (Joe) (nee Adams) O’Donnell-Szyszka of St. Louis, Mo., Thomas (Judy) Renehan of Round Lake Park and Kathleen Dunlap of Ingleside; grandchildren, Joshua, Amanda, Sam, Lauren, Kevin and David; and her loving companion, Marvin Martin of Round Lake.
   She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Katherine Benner.

According to the Daily Herald (Arlington Heights IL) Friday, April 12, 1940, page 9:

“Boxing Champs
   For the past three years Grant High of Fox Lake has had boxing as an interschool sport and under the capable coaching of Louis Orr has had at least one individual state champion every year.  This year Grant had two boys win state titles in the tournament held recently at Morton high of Cicero, Glenn Renehan, won the lightweight title and John Cheouske took the middleweights championship.  Francis Renehan won a state title in 1938 and George Simms was a winner in 1939.  That is quite a record for a school of 240 students.  Orr used to be an outstanding wrestler and boxer himself at Iowa State Teachers College.”

According to the News Sun (Waukegan IL) December 16, 2003:

“Francis J. “Chick” Renehan
   “Chick” Renehan passed away quietly on Saturday morning, December 13, 2003 at Winchester House in Libertyville, IL.  Chick was born on April 13, 1921 to the late Floyd and Flora (nee Wilson) Renehan in Round Lake, Illinois.  He was a resident of Ingleside, IL since 1953.  Chick was a graduate of Grant High School, a retired machinist after 33 years of employment at International Harvester, a member of the UAW Local 305, as well as a regular fixture for more than 15 years at his family’s farm stands in Mundelein, Libertyville and Grayslake.
   He is survived by his daughter, Debra (nee Renehan) (Anthony) Titus of Mundelein; his son, Fred McDowell of Ingleside; and his granddaughter, Heather Titus.  Chick is preceded in death by his loving wife, Virginia Helen Renehan; his brothers, George, Glen, Richard and Albert; and his parents.
   Friends of the family may join them for the visitation on Friday, December 19, 2003 from 4 to 8 PM at STRANG FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM, LTD, 410 E. Belvidere Rd., Grayslake, IL, 60030.  A Memorial Service will be held immediately following the visitation at 8:00 pm at the Funeral Chapel.  Interment will be held privately.  For further information, please call 847-223-8122.”

“ALBERT F. RENEHAN
Albert F. Renehan formerly of Round Lake
   Memorial services for Mr. Albert F. Renehan, 72, will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, 410 E. Belvidere Road, Grayslake.  Born Dec. 2, 1930, he died Wednesday, July 9, 2003, at Sheridan Health Care Center in Zion.  Inurnment will be private.  Al was a descendant of Thomas Renehan, who settled on the southern shore of Round Lake in 1836.  After graduation from Grant High School, Al was a farm manager.  He was employed by Obenauf Disposal Service for over 30 years.  Following service in the Army, he was a member of the American Legion Post of Round Lake.  Al enjoyed horses and mules which he often drove in local parades.  He is survived by his children, Linda Renehan of Springfield, Karen (Louis) Thoms of Grayslake, Thomas (Judy) Renehan of Round Lake and Kathleen (Robert) Dunlap of Ingleside; seven grandchildren, Ian and Sean Thoms, Amanda and Kevin Renehan, Joshua, Samuel and David Dunlap; one brother, Francis “Chick” Renehan of Round Lake; and life-long friend, Charlotte Renehan.  Al was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Renehan and Flora Renehan (nee Wilson); and by his brothers, George, Glenn and Richard.  Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the time of services at 7 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.  The family request no flowers and that friends remember Al with a contribution to their favorite charity, church or organization.  Friends may visit www.dailyherald.com/obits to express condolences and sign the guest book.  For funeral information, (847) 223-8122.”
