According to the St. Joseph Gazette (St. Joseph MO) Friday, March 10, 1961, page 2:

“ELDERLY MAN
FOUND DEAD
    Albert Perry Wilson, 88, was found dead yesterday afternoon at his home on route 2 about two miles north of St. Joseph, near Camp Geiger.
   Dr. W. E. Maxwell, Andrew county coroner, said death was caused by a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
   Death occurred about 4 p. m.  Mr. Wilson’s son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Salanky, with whom he resided, said they were returning from their hothouse, where they had checked some plants.  they said they heard a shot, and Mr. Salanky then found the body.
   Officers quoted Mr. and Mrs. Salanky as stating that Mr. Wilson had been despondent recently.
   Mr. Wilson, a retired farmer, had resided most of his life in Andrew county.
   In addition to the daughter, survivors include four other daughters, Mrs. Alice Green and Mrs. Helen Schooley, Waukegan, Ill., Mrs. Flora Renehan living in Illinois, and Mrs. Edna Batterson, Bradenton, Fla.; two sons, Ren Wilson, Janesville, Wis., and Russell Wilson, De Forest, Wis.; one brother, Joseph Wilson, Oklahoma City, and 17 grandchildren.
   The body is at the Stamey mortuary here.”

“Mrs. A. P. Wilson

   Mrs. Harriet Martha Wilson, 75 years old, wife of A. P. (Doc) Wilson, died yesterday at her home on rural route No. 2.  Born in Ohio, Mrs. Wilson had been a resident of this community most of her life.  She was a member of Oak Grove Presbyterian Church.  In addition to her husband, Mrs. Wilson is survived by two sons, Ren Wilson, Jamesville (sic), Wis., and Russell Wilson, Whitewater, Wis.; six daughters, Mrs. Flora Renehan, Round Lake, Ill.; Mrs. Alma Salanky of the home; Mrs. Edna Batterson, Chicago, and Mrs. Mae Kelley, Mrs. Helen Schooley and Mrs. Alice Green, all of Waukegan, Ill.; 18 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.  The body is at Stamey’s.”

“Boxing Champs
   For the past three years Grant High of Fox Lake has had boxing as an interschool sport and under the capable coaching of Louis Orr has had at least one individual state champion every year.  This year Grant had two boys win state titles in the tournament held recently at Morton high of Cicero, Glenn Renehan, won the lightweight title and John Cheouske took the middleweights championship.  Francis Renehan won a state title in 1938 and George Simms was a winner in 1939.  That is quite a record for a school of 240 students.  Orr used to be an outstanding wrestler and boxer himself at Iowa State Teachers College.”

“Francis J. “Chick” Renehan
   “Chick” Renehan passed away quietly on Saturday morning, December 13, 2003 at Winchester House in Libertyville, IL.  Chick was born on April 13, 1921 to the late Floyd and Flora (nee Wilson) Renehan in Round Lake, Illinois.  He was a resident of Ingleside, IL since 1953.  Chick was a graduate of Grant High School, a retired machinist after 33 years of employment at International Harvester, a member of the UAW Local 305, as well as a regular fixture for more than 15 years at his family’s farm stands in Mundelein, Libertyville and Grayslake.
   He is survived by his daughter, Debra (nee Renehan) (Anthony) Titus of Mundelein; his son, Fred McDowell of Ingleside; and his granddaughter, Heather Titus.  Chick is preceded in death by his loving wife, Virginia Helen Renehan; his brothers, George, Glen, Richard and Albert; and his parents.
   Friends of the family may join them for the visitation on Friday, December 19, 2003 from 4 to 8 PM at STRANG FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM, LTD, 410 E. Belvidere Rd., Grayslake, IL, 60030.  A Memorial Service will be held immediately following the visitation at 8:00 pm at the Funeral Chapel.  Interment will be held privately.  For further information, please call 847-223-8122.”

“Edna Batterson

   WEBSTER – Graveside services for Edna Fern Batterson, 87, a housewife, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Manasota Memorial Park Cemetery in Oneco, Fla.
   Local arrangements are under Jack Rowe Funeral Home of League City.
   Mrs. Batterson died Tuesday at Humana Hospital of Clear Lake in Webster.
   She was born on Aug. 7, 1896, in St. Joseph, Mo. and had been a former Bradenton resident and had been a Nassau Bay resident for five years.
   She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bradenton, the World War I Barracks 435 Auxiliary in Bradenton, and was past worthy matron of the Eastern Star.  She was also in the U. S. Army World War I Nurses Corps.
   Survivors include two daughters, Marilyn Burchsted of Nassau Bay and Lorraine Mager of Chicago; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.”

Wilson, age 67, died on Wednesday, February 27, 1974, on arrival at a Madison hospital.  Born in St. Joe, Missouri, he was a graduate of the University of Illinois, a retired superintendent of the Forest Milk Co., a village clerk for 20 years, administrator of the village for two years, and he was a candidate for the Dane County Supervisor, District 40.  Survivors include his wife, Emmogene; two daughters, Mrs. Carl Fagan, Madison, and Miss Pat, Milwaukee; a brother, Ren, Janesville; five sisters, Mrs. Flo Renehan, Round Lake, Mrs. Arthur School, Round Lake, Mrs. Alice Green, Waukegan, Illinois, Mrs. Harold Slanky, St. Joe, Missouri and Mrs. Lee Batterson, Brandton, Florida.  Funeral services will be held at the MORAVIAN CHURCH, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 2.  The Rev. Robert Ghodes officiating.  Burial in Moravian Cemetery.  Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. on Friday, March 1 at EDWARDSON FUNERAL HOME.”
