“Boxing Champs
For the past three years Grant High of Fox Lake has had boxing as an interschool sport and under the capable coaching of Louis Orr has had at least one individual state champion every year. This year Grant had two boys win state titles in the tournament held recently at Morton high of Cicero, Glenn Renehan, won the lightweight title and John Cheouske took the middleweights championship. Francis Renehan won a state title in 1938 and George Simms was a winner in 1939. That is quite a record for a school of 240 students.
