“Mrs. Eva P. Seesholts – Mrs. Eva P. Seesholts, 81, died early Saturday morning at her home at 408 N. Clifton. Mrs. Seesholts was the widow of a Wichita pioneer radio man, John J. Seesholts, who died in 1945. Seesholts had the first exclusive radio store in Wichita. Mrs. Seesholts was born March 27, 1876, in Avoca, Wis. She came to Wichita from Chicago in 1904. She was a member of the Plymouth Congregational Church and the Acacia Club. Mrs. Seesholts is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Herbert (Vivian) Bullinger, 519 S. Walnut, and Mrs. W. T. Fowler, 408 N. Clifton; three sisters, Mrs. Alfa Stalker, Salt Lake City, Utah; Mrs. E. H. Hileman, Coral Gables, Fla., and Mrs. Truman William, of Altadena, Calif.; two brothers, M. E. Parmely, Waterloo, Iowa, and Art Parmely, Chula Vista, Calif.; one granddaughter, and two great-grandsons. Funeral services will be announced later by the Downing Mortuary. Interment will be in Wichita Park Cemetery.”

According to unverified affidavits by Sarah Minerva Seesholts – January 20, 1904:
“Minerva Seesholts being duly sworn on auth that she is a resident of Grays Lake, Lake County, Illinois and has been a resident of Lake County for more than forty years, that she is the daughter of Ephelinda Wheelock, widow of Jerome Wheelock. Affiant further says that she was well acquainted with Lillian Briggs in her lifetime, that said Lillian Briggs, daughter of Laurin Briggs, was unmarried during 1869 and to the best of affiant’s knowledge of the age of about 18 years that affiant verily believes the said Lillian Briggs was of age April 17, 1869. Affiant further says that the father of affiant, husband of Ephelinda Wheelock died sometime in 1860 and that said Ephelinda Wheelock was a widow and unmarried on the 12th day of April 1869. Affiant further says that she well knew Henry Briggs, son of Hiram Briggs, that said Henry Briggs was in his lifetime married but that the wife of said Hiram Briggs is long since deceased that affiant is not advised whether or not said Henry Briggs wife was living on May 13, 1870. Affiant further say that she well knew Wallis Briggs and that Wallis Briggs was single and of lawful age on the 13th day of May 1870. Affiant further says that she well knew Abby Briggs widow of Hiram Briggs, that said Abby Briggs never remarried after the death of Hiram Briggs.”

JIM M’MILLEN’S MOTHER DIES OF HEART AILMENT
“Mrs. Maud McMillen, 57 years old, mother of James McMillen, former University of Illinois football star and now a prominent professional wrestler, died yesterday at her home in Antioch of a heart ailment, from which she had been suffering for some months. Funeral services will be held in Antioch this afternoon at 2 o’clock and burial will be in Fort Hill cemetery, near Volo. Besides her son Mrs. McMillen leaves her husband, Willis; a daughter, Mrs. Wesley Faulkner of Grays Lake, and her mother, Mrs. Sarah Seesholts.”
