According to the Findagrave memorial of George Beecher Cable (1858-1920) #27038696 by “priscilla ross-fox” and contributed by L. Winslow:

“Suggested edit: George, the son of David and Jane Thomson Cable, was left an orphan in infancy.  His boyhood and youth were spent in Avon Twp. with his maternal grandparents, George and Agnes (Langmuir) Thomson.
   He married Mary Hart Feb. 22, 1882.
   George was a farmer south of Lake Villa until he retired and moved to Grayslake.  he served as a school director for many years.”

According to the Libertyville Independent (Libertyville IL) Thursday, May 6, 1920, page 7 in regards to George Cable:

   “George Beecher Cable was born in Muskegan, Mich., May 24, 1858, and passed away at his home in Grayslake, Ill., April 29, 1920, aged 61 years, 11 months and 5 days.  February 22, 1882 he was united in marriage to mary K. Hart, and to this union one child was born, Henry David Cable, of Grayslake, who with the wife and one sister, Mrs. Ben Hendee, also of Grayslake, with other relatives and many friends survive to mourn his loss.”

According to the Probate Petition for Appointment of Administrator in Muskegon County, MI dated November 29, 1861:

“That David D. Cable late of the Township of Muskegan in the said County of Muskegan departed this life in said Township of Muskegan on Wednesday the thirteenth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-one… And your petition further shows that the names and residence of the heirs at law of said deceased, and other person interested in his estate, are as follows:
Jane S. Cable, the widow of said deceased David D. Cable
Ellie Cable
Emma Cable
Charles Cable               {Infant heirs of said deceased
George W. Cable
Laurence D. Cable”

Isabella (Thomson) Rathbun (twin) born June 14, 1837 in Bedford, Cuyahoga County, OH; married Bela Frost Rathbun (1833-1903) on October 29, 1867 in Lake County, IL, son of Saxton Rodney Rathbun (1805-1886) and Mariah (Lander) Rathbun (1807-1888); Isabella died December 17, 1926 in Plainfield, Will County, IL; Isabella and Bela are buried in Wheatland Cemetery, Wheatland, Will County, IL

5. Sophia T. (Thomson) Kapple (twin) born June 14, 1837 in Bedford, Cuyahoga County, OH; married James Clark Kapple (1834-1866) on October 21, 1857 in Lake County, IL son of James Kapple (1795-1871) and Dorothy (Clark) Kapple (1791-1875); Sophia died January 6, 1924 in Chicago, Cook County, IL (See section pertaining to James Clark Kapple buried in the Fort Hill Cemetery)  (See section pertaining to Sophia T.    The people of the state of Colorado to Mrs. Agnes Torrance, Hebron, Ill.; William Thompson (sic), Denver, Colo.; Mrs. Isabella Rathbun, Plainfield, Will county, Ill.’ Mrs. Sophia Kapple, 582 E 45th St., Chicago, Ill.; Mrs. Emma C. Hendee, Sumner, Ia.; Charles E. Cable, 62 Wells St., Chicago, Ill.; George B. Cable, Lake Villa, Ill; Mrs. J. Dombsky Hurd, Grays Lake, Ill.; Bernice Dombsky, Grays Lake, Ill.; heirs at law of Frances E. Burr, deceased:
   You are hereby notified that an instrument in writing purporting to be the last will and testament of Frances E. Burr, deceased, who resided in Colorado Springs, El Paso county, Colorado Springs, and departed this life at Colorado Springs in said county and state on or about the 15th day of September, A. D. 1902…”

According to the 1850 U.S Census for the Town of Avon, Lake County, IL the following household members were:

“George Thompson (Thomson), age 43, occupation: farmer, born in Scotland; Agnes Thompson, age 41, born in Scotland; Agnes Thomson, age 15, born in Ohio; Isabella Thompson, age 13, born in Ohio; Sophia Thompson, age 13, born in Ohio; William Thompson, age 8, born in Illinois; Elizabeth Thompson, age 5, born in Illinois; and Charles Walter, age 16, occupation: farmer; born in New Jersey”

According to the 1860 U.S. Census for the Town of Avon, Lake County, IL with a Fox Lake post office, the following household members were:

“George Thomson, age 53, occupation: farmer, born in Scotland; Agnes Thomson, age 50, born in Scotland; Agnes Thomson, age 25, born in Ohio; Jarvis A. Thomson, age 35, occupation: farmer, born in New York; Isabella Thomson, age 23, born in Ohio; William Thomson, age 19, occupation: farmer; born in Illinois; Frances E. Thomson, age 15, born in Illinois”

According to the 1870 U.S. Census for the Town of Avon, Lake County, IL with a Hainesville post office the following household members were:

“George Thompson (Thomson), age 63, occupation: farmer; Agnes Thompson, age 61, born in Scotland; Sophia Kapple, age 20, born in Ohio; Ella Cable, age 16, born in Illinois; Charles Cable, age 14, born in Illinois; George Cable, age 11, born in Illinois; Agnes Kapple, age 16, born in Illinois; Frank Kapple, age 11, born in Illinois; Beth Kapple, age 5, born in Illinois; Chauncy Inman, age 21, born in Illinois”

According to Illinois, Wills and Probates, 1772-1999, Will for Agnes Thomson:

   “In the name of God, Amen.  I Agnes Thomson of the town of Avon in the County of Lake and State of Illinois of the age of Sixty one years and being of sound mind and memory, do make publish and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner following, that is to say.
   I give and devise to my husband George Thomson his heirs and assigns all my real estate, and also my personal property, of every name and nature, together with all the hereditaments, and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining to have and to hold the premises to the said George Thomson his heirs and assigns forever.
   But in the event of my surviving my said husband, then said that case I give and devise to my son William Thomson, his heirs and assigns the following real estate situate in the County of Lake and State of Illinois to wit:  The south east quarter of the north east quarter accept two acres divided to Nelson and the north east quarter of the south east quarter, and the north west quarter of the south east quarter accept two and a half acres on the west line deeded to Otis Marble of section thirty one, in township number forty five north range number ten east of the third principal meridian containing one hundred and fifteen and a half acres and also twenty rods in width along the entire east line of the west half of the north east quarter of the above section, in the town and range aforesaid, containing twenty acres with the exception of one half (illegible) of an acre deeded for the purpose of a burying ground meaning to devise to my said son William Thomson, all of my real estate situated in said Lake County together with all the hereditaments and appurtenances there unto belong or in any wise appertaining to have and to hold the premises above set forth and described to the said William Thomson and his heir and assigns for ever.  With this reversation (sic) that the said William Thomson shall pay to the surviving children of my deceased daughter Jane Cable the sun of Tow hundred dollars to be equally divided between them, together with any amount that may be due to my said deceased daughter family, which can be ascertained by reference to the book of accounts kept by my said husband on pages entitled “Jane Account:.  And my said son William shall also pay to each of my daughters Agnes, Isabell Rathbun, Sophia Kappel and Frances E. Burr or to their heirs or assigns the sum of two hundred dollars each, without interest said payment to be made within two years from the date of my death.  And in case that default shall be made in either of the aforesaid payments, the west described above piece of land, containing about thirty seven and a half acres.  (illegible) meaning what we usually call the west forty, shall be sold by my executor or administrator at public or private sale after the expiration of two years from my death or so much thereof as may be necessary to pay the said amounts.  My executor giving public notice by posting up at least six printed or written notices in the most public places in the neighborhood at least twenty days before the day of said sale.  (illegible) my will that said sale shall not be unnecessarily delayed after the said expiration of two years.
   And I hereby appoint my said son William sole executor of this my last will and testament and desire that he shall not be required to give bond for his discharge of the trust which I hereby repose in him.
   In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this second day of June in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and seventy.

   The above instrument written on this and the two preceding pages was at the date thereof signed seals published and declared by the said Agnes Thomson as and for her last will and testament in presence of us, who at her request and in her presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto, this second day of June A.D. 1870.

According to the Illinois, Wills and Probate Records, 1772-1999, “Affidavit of Decease”:

“The State of Illinois}
Lake County,             } ss.
George Thompson (sic) being duly sworn, deposeth and saith:
That Agnes Thompson (sic) late of the Town of Avon in the County of Lake and State aforesaid, departed this life at Avon in said County, on or about the Fourth day of July A.D. 1872, and that she died leaving a last will and testament to the best of his knowledge and belief.
