According to the Chicago Tribune (Chicago IL) Saturday, December 23, 1967, page 30:
“A Round Lake Beach youth was killed yesterday when his car was struck by another car after the driver lost control on a curve in Milwaukee avenue, a half mile south of Buckley road, Libertyville.
Terrance M. Thornton, 19, a laborer, was northbound. A car driven by Mrs. Dorothy Thomas, 35, of 314 S. Milwaukee av., Libertyville, was southbound, according to Police Chief Edward Knigge of Libertyville. Mrs. Thoma’s (sic) car crossed over a cement median strip, striking Thornton’s care on the left front.
Driver Is Charged
Mrs. Thomas was charged with driving in the wrong lane. She was in Condell Memorial hospital in satisfactory condition with facial and leg cuts.”
