Coon and Octavia (Kritz) Coon (1883-1936); married Jeannette Card on January 24, 1923 in Cook County, IL; Frank died February 1983; buried in Willow Lawn Memorial Park, Vernon Hills, Lake County, IL
According to the Chicago Tribune (Chicago IL) Monday, February 28, 1983, page 10:
“COON – Frank W. Coon of Mundelein, beloved husband of Jeanette “Jean”; loving father of Iyla Mae (John) Tobias; fond brother of Helen Sofka and Russell; loving grandfather of four; great-grandfather of Janet, Sharon, James, Jennifer and John III. Funeral Tuesday, 11 a.m. at Kristan Funeral Home, 219 Maple, Mundelein. Visitation 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. Interment Willow Lawn. 566-8020.”

“COON, JEANNETTE L., 93, of Homosassa, died Monday (May 19, 1997). Born in Madison, Wis., she came here 12 years ago from Mundelein, Ill. She was a retired operator for Illinois Bell and a member of the Telephone Pioneers. She was a member of Homosassa United Methodist Church. Survivors include a sister, Julia Hummel, McFarland, Wis.; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Hooper Funeral Home and Crematory, Homosass.”

According to the Capital Times (Madison WI) Sunday, June 6, 1943, page 13:
“Coon-Tobias
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Card announce the marriage of their granddaughter, Miss Iyla Mae Coon, Chicago, Ill., to Corp John N. Tobias, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold G. Tobias, Dayton, O.
The Rev. J. G. Robinson of the Presbyterian church, Delray Beach, Fla., performed the ceremony at 7 p.m., May 22, at the home of Mrs. Laura Hand. The bride wore a yellow suit with blue accessories and a corsage of orchids. Mrs. Hand was matron of honor and Corp. Robert G. Barrett, Charlotte, N. C., was best man. A reception followed the service.
The couple is residing in the Cason apts., 119 N. Swinton ave., Delray Beach. Corp. Tobias is an instructor at Beca Raton field.”

“TOBIAS, IYLA MAE, 72, of Riverhaven Village, Homosassa, died Sunday (Nov. 19, 1995). Born in Madison, Wis., she came here 10 years ago from Round Lake Park, Ill. She was the owner of the South Sea Gift Shop, Racine, Wis., and a member of First United Methodist Church, Homosassa. She was a member of the Easter Star, Homosassa Springs Chapter, the Homosassa Garden Club and the Shadowwood Association of Riverhaven; and a member and past board member and officer of the River haven Community Club. Survivors include a son, John N. Jr., Rockford, Ill.; two daughters, F. Jean O’Brien, Aurora, Ill., and Mary Nash, Homosassa; her mother, Jeannette C. Coon, Homosassa; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandson. Wilder-Fountains Funeral Home, Homosassa Springs.”

“Iyla Mae Tobias, 72
ROUND LAKE – Iyla Mae Tobias, 72, of Homosassa, Fla., formerly of Round Lake, passed away Sunday, Nov. 19, 1995, at her home. Born Sept. 15, 1923, in Madison, Wis., daughter of Frank and Jeannette C. Coon. She owned and operated the South Sea Gift Shop in Racine, Wis., for many years before retiring. Members of First United Methodist Church, Homosassa, Order of Eastern Star-Homosassa Springs Chapter and Homosassa Garden Club. Also, a past board member as well as an officer of Riverhaven Communit Club. Member of Shadowwood Association of Riverhaven. Survivors include her son, John N. (Phyllis) Tobias Jr. of Rockford; two daughters, F. Jean (C. Stephen) O’brien of Aurora and Mary (Michael) Nash of Homosassa; nine grandchildren; one great-grandson; and her mother, Jeannette C. Coon of Homosassa. Predeceased by father, Frank, husband, John N. Tobias Sr., and son, James N. Tobias.
Graveside services at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, in fort Hill Cemetery, Round Lake. Visitation 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 24, in DIETERLE MEMORIAL HOME, 1120 S. Broadway, Aurora, 11-22-3″
