According to notes from Genealogy.com re: Haldeman letter dated 10/24/1812 by Larry Kasten on March 23, 2002:

“Frank underwent training at Camp Grant in Rockford, ILL, and after training was assigned to the 15th Company, 161st Depot Brigade.  His company commander was Lt. C.D. Overfelt.  Frank was discharged in 1918 in the grade of private.  He was awarded the WWI Victory Medal for his service.  Frank was a member of the American Legion and D.A.V.  Until his retirement in 1957, he was an electrician.  After his retirement he resided in Burling, WI.  Frank died at the VA Hospital in Wood (Milwaukee), WI.  He was buried next to his wife on Fort Hill Cemetery, Grant Twp. (sic Avon Twp), Lake Co., ILL.  Luella died at the hospital in Waukegan of lombar pneumonia on Tuesday morning 4/21/31.”
