“CURTIS B. COMBS
SANDWICH – Curtis B. Combs 57, 124 College Ave., died Wednesday, May 12, 1965 at the Sandwich Community Hospital.
He was born Feb. 22, 1908 in Rogers Park, the son of Clinton B. and Florence A. Combs. He married Ione Mae Mosher, Jan. 1, 1930 and had been employed by the C. B. & Q. Railroad in the brass finishing department for 32 years.
Survivors include his widow; two sons, Curtis of Millington and Jerry D. of Sheridan; six grandchildren. His parents and two brothers preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday from the Jones Funeral Home with Rev. J. Brabner Smith officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today.”

Mr. Combs died Monday on his farm, Burr Oak, two miles east of Round Lake. He had lived on this farm all of his life. Surviving are his widow, Maud, and two brothers.”

“CLINTIN BOND COMBS
SANDWICH – Clintin (sic) Bond Combs, 75, passed away Thursday noon, May 28, 1953, at the Bellvue Place at Waterman.
He was born at Round Lake November 23, 1877. On March 7, 1898, he married Florence Alice Bater and he has been a resident of Sandwich since 1922.
He operated a grocery store for many years and was manager of the first Atlantic and Pacific store in Sandwich. He was well known throughout northern Illinois as a fancier of bantam chickens.
He was preceded in death by his wife and two infant sons. Surviving are one son, Curtis of Sandwich, two grandsons, Curtis of Lakeland Air Base, San Antonio, Tex., and Jerry of Sandwich, and one brother, William of Chicago.
The services will be held at 10 o’clock on Monday at the Sutherland Funeral Home and 2 o’clock at Fort Hill Cemetery at Round Lake. Rev. Howard Palm of the Salem Lutheran Church will officiate. Friends may call at the Sutherland Funeral Home at any time.”

“Services for Clinton B. Combs, 70, of 621, of 621 E. 3d st., Sandwich, DeKalb county retired phone company executive and Sandwich farmer for more than 20 years, will be held Monday at 10 a. m. in Sandwich. Burial will be in Round Lake. Mr. Combs died Thursday in the Waterman, Ill., hospital. He was an Illinois Bell Telephone company suburban collector prior to becoming assistant manager of the telephone company in Spokane, Wash. Surviving are a son, Curtis, and a brother, Will.”
