According to the Daily Chronicle (DeKalb IL) Thursday, May 13, 1965, page 2:
“CURTIS B. COMBS
SANDWICH – Curtis B. Combs 57, 124 College Ave., died Wednesday, May 12, 1965 at the Sandwich Community Hospital.
He was born Feb. 22, 1908 in Rogers Park, the son of Clinton B. and Florence A. Combs. He married Ione Mae Mosher, Jan. 1, 1930 and had been employed by the C. B. & Q. Railroad in the brass finishing department for 32 years.
Survivors include his widow; two sons, Curtis of Millington and Jerry D. of Sheridan; six grandchildren. His parents and two brothers preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday from the Jones Funeral Home with Rev. J. Brabner Smith officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today.”

According to the Lake County Independent, June 12, 1903:
“In loving remembrance of our little C. B. who died one year ago the 11th of June 1902. Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Combs.”
According to the Lake County Independent, December 25, 1903:
“J. H. Miller, of McHenry, placed a monument in the Fort Hill cemetery grounds in memory of W. T. Combs and for little C. B. Combs.”
