According to the Daily Herald (Chicago IL) Monday, October 28, 1996, page 251:

“Niels D. Frandsen, 75, of Grayslake, died Friday, Oct. 25.  Arrangements were made by Strang Funeral Chapel, Ltd., Grayslake, (847) 223-8122.”

According to the Chicago Tribune (Chicago IL) Friday, December 19, 1941, page 1:

TRUCK-AUTO COLLISION
IN LAKE COUNTY KILLS
4 COMING FROM SHOW

   “Four young men were killed and a fifth was believed dying today after their auto collided with a truck and trailer on route 120 near Volo in Lake county.  The dead:
   Carl Davis, 18 years old; Harold Hansen Jr., 19; Paul Franzen (sic), 17, and George Johnson, 17, all of Round Lake or near by.  The car belonged to Hanse, who was understood to be awaiting a call to service after enlistment in the navy.  Johnson was a high school pupil.
   In St. Therese hospital at Waukean is Reed M. Frost, 15, also a high school pupil.
   The driver of the truck, who was treated for slight injuries before he was taken to jail, is Lawrence Lufkin, 31, of Mauston, Wis.
   The young men were returning from a show in McHenry.  Lufkin said they swerved to avoid his truck too late to prevent a crash.  The car went upside down in a seven foot ditch with the trailer on top. [Details of other automobile speed deaths on page 23.]”
