According to the Waukegan Weekly Gazette (Waukegan IL) Saturday, June 2, 1877, page 3:

   “The public will be pained to learn of the death of Dr. Richard Huson, which occurred at the family residence in Avon, about one o’clock on Friday morning.  Mr. Huson was an early settler, having come to Lake county more than thirty years ago.  For several years he practiced medicine here but afterward relinquished his practice and engaged in farming.  He was universally respected and his death will cause genuine sorrow in the hearts of all who knew him.”

According to the Independent Register (Libertyville IL) Thursday, January 30, 1947:

“Rites Are Held Sunday For Mrs. Sarah Ames
   Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon from the Strang funeral home in Grayslake for Mrs. Sarah E. Ames, 71, who resided with a daughter, Mrs. Howard Murrie, 929 N. Milwaukee ave., Libertyville.  She passed away Thursday at Condell Memorial hospital.  Burial was in Fox Lake cemetery.
   Mrs.Ames was born at Ft. Hill, in the vicinity of Round Lake, on Sept. 6, 1875.  She resided in this vicinity her entire life.  The following children survive: Mrs. Murieta Hanger, Chicago; Russell L. Meade, Rockford, and Mrs. Howard Murrie, Libertyville.  Surviving brother and sisters are: George L. Huson, Round Lake; Mrs. Cora Martin, Chicago; Mrs. Roy (sic) Paddock, Wauconda; Mrs. Walter Sykes, Chepeck, Wis.; Mrs. Ralph Davis, Waukegan.”

FORT HILL

   “The funeral of Mrs. Mary Huson at her late home on Sunday last was largely attended.  She leaves a husband, one son and five daughters to mourn her departure.”

According to the McHenry Plaindealer (McHenry IL) Thursday, December 12, 1929, page 7:

   “M. B. Huson died at the home of his daughter Mrs. Ray Paddock at Wauconda Sunday morning.  He was buried in Fort Hill cemetery Wednesday afternoon.”

According to the Libertyville Independent (Libertyville IL) Thursday, December 19, 1929, page 10:

(Marshall Huson Died Dec. 5)

   Marshall Huson 77 year old native Lake County, was found dead in his bed Sunday morning at the home of his daughter Mrs. Ray Paddock in Wauconda, where he has been living the past 3 1/2 years.
   Mr. Huson was born on a farm near Round Lake on October 30, 1852.  He was married to Mary Marble, and they lived on the Marble homestead in Round Lake for many years.  Mrs. Huson passed away March 5, 1905 and Mr. Huson continued to reside on the place until failing health compelled him to take up his residence with his daughter.
   He has but one sister living Alice Knox of Whittier, California, 14 grandchildren and 6 great grand grand children also survive.
   Five daughters and one son survive him.  They are, Mrs. Ray Paddock of Wauconda, Mrs. Sadie Ames of Grayslake, Mr. George Huson of Round Lake, Mrs. Cora Martin, Mrs. Zella Davis all of Round Lake and Mrs. Louise Sykes of Chetek, Wis.
   Funeral services were held from the Paddock home in Wauconda at 2 Wednesday afternoon.  Enterment (sic) was in the Fort Hill Cemetery land for part of which was donated by his grandfather.”
