“The Plainview News Feb. 2 1900
Died, Samuel Hiram Lindsey, at Minneiska, Minn., Jan. 25, 1900, aged 67 years. Mr. Lindsey was born in Crawford county, Penn., in 1832. He came to the state of Minnesota in the early days and lived at Minneiska until the time of his death. He was a veteran of the civil war, and while in the service of his country contracted a disease which was finally the cause of his death. The deceased leaves a wife and son, F. Lindsey of Minneapolis, and a daughter, Mrs., Martinson.”

Ingalls (1788-1877) and Mercy Coburn (Bancroft) Ingalls (?-1884); Daniel Ingalls was a blacksmith and toolmaker at Nashua, NH and moved to Illinois in the 1840s before moving to Minneiska, MN; In 1910 Ellen was living with her sister Alma Elvira (Ingalls) Brown in Minneiska, Wasbasha County, MN and was still living on November 10, 1915 according to her brother’s William Henry Ingalls obituary.

According to the Minneapolis Star (Minneapolis MN) Tuesday, May 26, 1959, page 12:
“Services for FREDERICK FRANCIS LINDSAY, 93, who died Sunday, will be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Werness Brothers chapel, with burial 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Maplewood cemetery, Luverne, Minn. A charter member of Prospect Park Methodist Episcopal church, Mr. Lindsay was first chairman of the board of trustees and first superintendent of the Sunday school at the church. He established the Lindsay Co. Wholesale and Retail Florists and built the business block at University Av. And Bedford St. A native of Hainesville, Ill., he attended Hamline university and graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1891 with the first class to receive degrees in law. After retiring in 1937, Mr. and Mrs. Lindsay lived briefly in Preston, Minn., then returned to their home at 25 SE. Seymour Av., one of the early homes of Prospect Park, and more recently lived at Walker Methodist home where they celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in 1957. Mrs. Lindsay died in February at the age of 91. Surviving Mr. Lindsay are a sister, Mrs. Effie L. Martinson, Walker Methodist home and three sons, Lynn G., White Bear Lake; Malcolm I., Minneapolis, and Frederick K., LaGrange, Ill., and nine grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.”

“MARTINSON – Effie, age 93, of Walker Methodist Home, formerly of Wayzata on March 15th. Survived by son, Lyman of Tucson, Ariz.; nieces and nephews. Funeral service 2 p.m. Monday at Rettinger Funeral Home, Long Lake. Interment Greenlawn Cemetery, Wayzata. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Sunday.”

Luverne, Minn., June 22, 1892, Effie Lucinda, daughter of Thaddeus P. and Mary J. (Ingalls) Grout, b. Fountain Prairie, Wis., Nov. 29, 1867, grad. Hamlin University; he grad. (NOTE: Eddie H. Lindsey was a cousin of Hettie L. Lindsey and Lettie Willson, also buried in the Fort Hill Cemetery (See section pertaining to Hettie L. Lindsey buried in the Fort Hill Cemetery) (See section pertaining to Lettie Wilson buried in the Fort Hill Cemetery) The two fathers and one mother, Jacob D. Lindsey, Samuel Hiram Lindsey and Rachal Ann (Lindsey) Willson were siblings. In 1850, according to the U.S. Census records, the parents of Jacob, Samuel, and Rachel and their siblings were living in Avon Township, Lake County, IL.
