“Harold Owen Wilkinson, born May 3, 1929, passed away January 1, 2017, at the age of 87. Moved to Johnson City in April of 1993. He served our country in the Army for two years, worked as an auto mechanic for 45 years, and loved to work with wood and out in the yard.
He was a loving husband to his wife, Arlene A. Wilkinson with whom they were married for 57 years. He is survived by his daughter, Julie Wilkinson Pixley and her husband, Gary Pixley; step-daughter, JoAnne Karroll; and two sons, William and James Markus, and grandchildren, great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his stepson, Gary Oborny.

SHAKOPEE, Minn. – Audrey Dawn Kasten, 78, passed away peacefully Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010, at St. Gertrude’s Health Care Center in Shakopee.
She was born Feb. 17, 1931, in Grayslake, to Frank B. and Luella (Haldeman) Wilkinson and was raised by Frank’s brother George and Viola (Haldeman) Wilkinson. She married Alvin Otto Kasten on May 21, 1948, at the Methodist Church in Chemung.
She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved, protected and enjoyed spending time with her family.
She will be loved and missed by her daughter, Audrey Ann Sharp of Duluth; a son, Larry (Vicky) Kasten of Lydia, Minn.; her granddaughters, Heather Campbell and Rachel (Andrew) Olson; her grandsons, Jeremiah (Stacy) Kasten and Josiah Kasten; her great-grandchildren, Connor Campbell, Benjamin Simonitsch, Ezra Olson, Gabriel Kasten and Abigail Kasten; her brothers, Harold (Arlene) Wilkinson of Johnson City, Tenn., and George M Wilkinson Jr. of Ruskin, Fla.; a special cousin, Lois Prendergast of Lake Villa; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and a special church friend, Bradley Greenwald.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin in August 2009; a granddaughter, Peggy Ann Taylor; her parents; her sisters, Luella Johnson and June Butte (sic); and her brothers, Frank Wilkinson Jr., Charles Edwin Wilkinson and Calvin Daniel Wilkinson.

ESCONDIDO – Charlie Ross Wilkinson, 93, of 1105 Thomas Way died Oct. 30 at the Masonic Home in Union City.
He was born Nov. 21, 1883, in Illinois and had lived in California for 69 years. He moved from Escondido to Alameda County eight years ago. He was a stock clerk for the Escondido Mutual Water Co. for 10 years before his retirement.
Mr. Wilkinson was a past master and 50-year member of Escondido’s Consuelo Lodge 325, F&AM.
Surviving are one son, Melville Wilkinson of Escondido; three grandchildren, including Kenneth Wilkinson of this city; and two great-grandchildren.
A graveside service is planned for 10 a.m. Nov. 3 at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Officers of Consuelo Lodge 325, F&AM, will officiate. The Alhiser-Wilson Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Funeral services will be in the Schutt, McFarlin and Saunders funeral home, Harvard, at 1:30 p.m. Saturday with burial in Dunham-Chemung cemetery.

According to notes from Genealogy.com re: Haldeman letter dated 10/24/1812 by Larry Kasten on March 23, 2002:
“Frank underwent training at Camp Grant in Rockford, ILL, and after training was assigned to the 15th Company, 161st Depot Brigade. His company commander was Lt. C.D. Overfelt. Frank was discharged in 1918 in the grade of private. He was awarded the WWI Victory Medal for his service. Frank was a member of the American Legion and D.A.V. Until his retirement in 1957, he was an electrician. After his retirement he resided in Burling, WI. Frank died at the VA Hospital in Wood (Milwaukee), WI. He was buried next to his wife on Fort Hill Cemetery, Grant Twp. (sic Avon Twp), Lake Co., ILL. Luella died at the hospital in Waukegan of lombar pneumonia on Tuesday morning 4/21/31.”

According to the Daily Sentinel (Woodstock IL) Monday, December 15, 1975, page 8:
“FRANK B. WILKINSON
GRAYSLAKE – Frank B. Wilkinson, 84, former 36-year resident of Grayslake, moving to Burlington, Wis., in 1957, died Friday, Dec. 12, in Wood Veterans Hospital, Wood, Wis.
He was born April 29, 1891, in Maple Park.
A World War I U.S. army veteran, he was a member of the American Legion and DAV. He was a retired electrician.
His wife, Louella, died in April 1931, and he was also preceded in death by two infant sons, Charles and Calvin.
Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. George (Opal) Johnson and Mrs. Chester (June) Bute, Round Lake, and Mrs. Alvin (Audrey) Kasten, Harvard; two sons, Frank Jr., McHenry, and Harold, Wildwood; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and a brother, Charles Wilkinson, Escondido, Calif.
Services were held at 1:30 p.m. today in the Strang funeral chapel, Grayslake, with burial in Fort Hill cemetery, Round Lake.
Memorials may be made to Wood Veterans Hospital, Wood, Wis.”
